For The POET By DAY ~ Jamie Dedes IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, A POEM ~ Leaving Love as a Precious Gage ~

IMG_0509
Wednesday Prompt by Jamie Dedes

“Everyone must leave something behind when he dies, my grandfather said. A child or a book or a painting or a house or a wall built or a pair of shoes made. Or a garden planted. Something your hand touched some way so your soul has somewhere to go when you die, and when people look at that tree or that flower you planted, you’re there.

“It doesn’t matter what you do, he said, so long as you change something from the way it was before you touched it into something that’s like you after you take your hands away. The difference between the man who just cuts lawns and a real gardener is in the touching, he said. The lawn-cutter might just as well not have been there at all; the gardener will be there a lifetime.” Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451

love is blind and so we say,it
finds to the heart and soul -its way-
so why think about age
why judge  the clayey cage

when  sweet fragrance engulfs
the spirit then lament not, nor
pity thyself nor cry, for
love is a precious gage

so grieve no heart on Earth
nor make bleak a life
you will soon be away
from struggle trial and strife

before I cease to be I called you
a flower  a tender rose petal
and now I must learn the laws
of the garden', accept the nettle

maybe in time I may find
 the  true bright light, till
then on the high night sky
will be to shine , and sigh

so I leave behind some love
some  effulgent fragrance with
 perpetual  radiance ,remember,
peace is- only with complacence

For The POET by Day ~ Jamie Dedes Wednesday Writing Prompt ~ Melting Into Timelessness ~ Sensing Nothingness "

every moment a tiptoe sounds

I close my eyes to see

as I feel the page

as words take shape and form

my thoughts encircle the song

inside the circle of the dance

is it the dancer or the dance?

Ah! only my soul knows

Only my heart can see-

I close my eyes to look

up from the book

at the love of purity

which is but a scent sweet

I reach out to touch

Nothingness ‘

Ah The presence in Nothingness’

Love of Eternity ‘

Close…

closer than the thorn is to the rose

growing from dust

glowing in the dust

dust to dust we rose

engulfed spirits in time

destined together to repose…

arms spread out to receive

like the scattered petals

of the beloved rose…..

my eyes on the book I close

the dancer moved bent and rose….

life went on, life goes….

far far away, forever...

For The Tuesday Platform for ~ IGWRT ~ So Many Songs Unsung ~

so many poems unwritten sailed through
so many songs unsung flew
and I sat and viewed the sunsets
and the silver lined clouds

and read the figures in the mind
and formed pages and pages of  long
stories visions angels meditating
misty mornings emerging to half
the day gone and so soon
it is afternoon,

and still I smile and muse
as 'Changes creep in...
children are no more around
silence is the faithful companion

in my soul is the musical sound
of life, crush of a falling leaf
shaken sent, to the ground
and I wrap the shawl tight

waiting,hoping to see the unseen
hoping to be in pure divine Light

For The POET By Day ~ Wednesday Writing Prompt 'Love , Smile I may for Whom ?

Smile I may for whom
eyes may shine, for whom

Be oblivious of all pain
forgetful for joy, for whom

may someone be a friend
friendly I may be for whom?

why strangers seem my own
stranger I may be, for whom

shine I do for all at night
twinkling silently I wait for whom

special someone may never come anjum
keep the heart open, unknown love may enter soon
