no desire to roll
or prance
contentment replete
in form and fur
silent breath
silent purr
guarding the door
on barren floor
profound faith
defying death_
my love have seen
no desire for more,
to heaven I’ve been
back with orders
to guard a spirit
with the invisible
screen

I love that you were sent back to guard the spirit of the cat. Lovely poem.
It's that simple--and this profound:
"silent breath
silent purr
guarding the door"
We may not be furry, but we are adopted caretakers and care-takees.
Very touching, a lovely poem.
A furry caretaker....in so many ways they are. This is lovely Anjum!
I thought it was the cat sent back to guard the spirit of a loved human.
