Well that was unexpected,
unprecedented, millions of spirits
unprecedented, millions of spirits
leaving the world, leaving yet
millions behind,to mourn in shock
to find oxygen out of stock
while yet we mourned the expected,
loss of a dear writer friend we
lost a close beloved family son
well so sudden so quick so young
that was unexpected
that was unexpected
so I wrote about writing editing
and poetry, wrote more poetry
collected poems and chats
and found that there were so
many, thousands and more to add
and crossed the target
well that was not unexpected
that was not unexpected
now hopeful for the coming time
much more poetry forming in line
2021 will be in writing too
poetry stories but more I guess
will be in the shape and style
of Haiku'

So much loss this year. I am so sorry for yours. I hope he is in peace. Death is always so much more terrible when the person is young.
Stay safe.
Sad reflections, and also glad ones, in an accomplished poem. Thank you for sharing them.
You may have misunderstood and posted ahead of time for Magaly's upcoming new year prompt on Jan. 6. If so, you may link this post again then, if you wish, as few will have seen your late link this time. Just a suggestion, so that this lovely piece doesn't get overlooked. Or you are of course welcome to link something new on the 6th if you prefer.

Dear Helen Thank you same to you
Well, Ms. AW, "that was unexpected." We too lost friends and family, Mrs. Jim's sister died of the COVID back in March. Another of her cousins has been in the hospital for a week now also. We are not getting much news from her. Best wishes on the Haiku, they and the Senryū are fun to write. I like to group them in three or more with similar or matching tales.
Thank you for peeking in on my writing.
